The newly built Guangzhou Museum of Art （广州美术馆，former 广州艺术博物院）will open from November 30, 2023 (Thursday).
An exhibition hall with five themes is prepared, and you can see a variety of famous works to contemporary works that those interested in Chinese ancient art know.
1. 万壑争流 [ wàn hè zhēng liú ]
An exhibition of works by ancient Chinese painters, which was owned by the Guangzhou Museum of Art, will display 455 works by 12 mainstream painters and 166 calligraphy artists. You can find works by famous artists such as WenTong(文同), LiHang(李行), DaiJin(戴进), ShenZhou(沈周), WenJingMing(文徵明), TangYin(唐寅), JiuYing(仇英), and DongQiChang(董其昌).

2. 风自南来 [ fēng zì nán lái ]
It is an exhibition of modern and contemporary Chinese art owned by the Guangzhou Museum of Art, and will display works including traditional paintings from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the late 20th century. There are various works such as Chinese paintings, oil paintings, watercolors, cartoons, and engravings(prints).

3. 时代新章 [ shí dài xīn zhāng ]
The Guangdong Museum of Art, the Museum of the Guangzhou Academy of Art, and the Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum have cooperated to showcase contemporary Cantonese art through famous and new artists from the Guangdong area.

4. 塔高水长 탑고수장 [ tǎ gāo shui zhǎng ]
More than 100 carefully selected works among Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, and sculptures owned by the Chinese Museum of Art will be displayed.
* Location: 2 rooms on the 1st floor, 10 to 11 rooms on the 3rd floor
* Period: Nov. 30, 2023 ~ Feb. 29, 2024
5. 融合之路 [ róng hé zhī lù ]
It is a special exhibition of contemporary Chinese Arts owned by the Chinese Art Museum(Shanghai) and the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy(上海中国画院). There are works of the early 20th century by artists LinFengMin(林风眠), LiuHaiSu(刘海粟), WuGuanZhong(吴冠中), WuZuoRen(吴作人).
